To whom it may concern.
I'm an instrumentalist. I don't sing or write lyrics. I speak through my guitar. The guitar does the talking for me when words are harder to come out. I'm feeling that instrumentalists these days don't get enough respect. We really work hard on our instrument whether it might be piano, guitar, bass, organ, keyboards, sax, trumpet, trombone, flute, or drums.
There's nothing wrong with singers getting the most attention but give the instrumentalists who don't sing some respect. Please.
It isn't something I'm losing sleep over but I'm realizing that the only time instrumentalists who get the most respect are the ones who are playing smooth jazz or traditional jazz. The instrumentalists who play psychedelic-experimental or other genres don't get the same kind of respect. That is very unfortunate. It is something I had to get off my chest.
I just wanted to give something for people to think about. Thank you all very much.
